Irlam Station Heritage Trail
Visitors to Irlam Station are now able to do a self-guided tour of the station and explore its environs thanks to the installation of a new map. The Heritage Trail map was installed in 2022 and pinpoints the location of heritage displays and 2D and 3D art installations around the station and on Station Park.
The map includes digital imagery designed by local artist Rachelle Cleary and was produced by Sarah Murray (HDT). The map can be found on the forecourt at the front of Station House and a copy is also located at the Station Park entrance off Liverpool Road. By taking a short stroll around the station visitors are able to freely take in the various railway exhibits, heritage boards depicting former local industries, unique art pieces, and a quirky garden display.
As well as exploring outside, visitors can pop into Station House to enjoy the Heritage Hub inside with its many artefacts, photos and 2D art that depict the areas rich history. For a taster of what can be seen click here
