Celebrating Irlam Station’s Heritage Hub – 10yrs old!

Hamilton Davies Trust (HDT) are proud to be celebrating the fact that their Heritage Hub at Irlam Station is 10 years old!

Over the past decade the HDT team’s passion for the Heritage Hub has not dwindled. Alongside the Station team and several partners, we have worked tirelessly to develop the heritage offering for visitors, whilst also ensuring this freely accessible resource does not impact on the business side of the Station’s café and bar.

Since the launch of the opening of Station House on 26th March 2015 (having been closed for more than 20 years) more layers of heritage interest have been added to Station House and around the Station environment including: the magnificent Signal Box and Signal Yard, life-sized railway exhibits, more original large-scale art pieces, and unique 3D art within Station Park. All of these tell the story of Irlam Station and the local district’s rich industrial heritage in an eye-catching and multi-faceted way.

With the addition of guided tours, thanks to the Friends of Irlam Station and members of the HDT team and volunteers, the area’s history is enthusiastically showcased to ensure it is not forgotten. All ages are catered for when delivering tours, from Tots to adults wishing to discover more. To book a guided tour email [email protected]
