    Community Websites

comm sitesHDT is always striving to develop great relationships with the community and provide better online resources, so we created two community websites www.irlamandcadishead.net and www.rixtonwithglazebrook.net.

Launched in 2012, the sites provide residents with all sorts of much needed information about what’s happening in their area. From events and sport, to details of local community groups and venues such as schools, places of worship etc. They also feature the public messages displayed on the Digital Information Board, located on the corner of Fairhills / Liverpool Road.

“I use both of the community sites a few times a week. They are a great source of information, whether I am looking for something to do or generally to know what’s happening in the area. I post some of the information on the ‘Irlam and Cadishead Community Now and Then’ Facebook page, which I look after. This information wasn’t easily available before these sites were created.” Maurice Cullen – Local Resident

Our sites are not just for local residents to browse though! They’re also there for our community groups in the area. This is where you can tell everyone about your news and events, as well as prompt people to get in touch. Our partners also have access to these sites. It’s a great way for them to communicate with the communities for which they work. If you know anyone looking to visit or move to the area, point them in our direction!

Our sites are also a great source of information for people looking for what the area has to offer them and their families or even when looking for a good day out!

HDT funded £130 for Farm Watch Signs designed to deter would-be criminals.

“The signs have helped a great deal, as they let people know they are being watched and have reduced the number of calls for hare coursing and other rural crime.” Paul Greenhalgh, PCSO
