Local crafters create a Winter-Wool-Derland

HDT were delighted with the warm response and  support from local crafters after putting out a request for help to
create new ornaments for the crocheted Christmas Tree at The Station – Irlam.

As well as individuals who contributed, we also had crafters from various craft groups including: Stitches, Glazebrook WI, St John’s Bowling Club, Irlam Inner Wheel, Salford Health Improvement Service, St Paul’s Shawl Ministry and Irlam and Cadishead Crochet Group, who all created their own unique and charming festive ornaments.

On 14th December some of the crafters involved came along to Irlam Station to enjoy a coffee and mince pie together before hanging their ornaments on the tree.

HDT’s Suzanne Hindle said: “It was a lovely morning bringing everyone together to see each other’s creations and attach them to the tree.  Our special thanks to Phil from the Station for the mince
pies
.”

The tree and ornaments will be up over the festive period so please visit the Station and take a look at them up close; we’re sure it will bring a smile to your face!
