Bringing the community together!

On the 3rd December our chairman Neil McArthur and Irlam & Cadishead Academy (ICA) Vice Principal Martin Oldfield welcomed guests to our fourth Community Christmas Concert, bringing local people together for some festive and sparkling entertainment.

Nearly 300 guests and performers enjoyed an exciting evening’s programme at the I&C Academy  which included superb performances from: Irlam Primary School, Cadishead Primary School, Irlam Male Voice Choir, ICA Choir, soloist Katie Santi on clarinet, and Cadishead Band.

There were also some lovely readings by Craig Thomas (ICA) and Man on the Bench poetry 1st prize winners Lillah Evans, aged 10 from Cadishead Primary and ICA student Phoebe Stephens-Pantoja aged 11.

The evening ended with a colourful video showing HDT highlights from 2019, which included the recent launch of the Man on the Bench sculpture, which was made possible due to the wonderful fundraising efforts and donations of so many local people.

To help spread even more festive cheer the HDT team will be ending 2019 in style by donning their Elves outfits once again. On Tuesday 17th December we will be hosting a Coffee Morning at Hamilton Davies House 10am – 12noon – all welcome. Father Christmas will be joining them on Wednesday 18th December as they board the ‘Old Faithful’ steam engine and trailer as it leaves Hamilton Davies House at 10am and tootles  up Liverpool Road bringing a smile to everyone’s face, before turning around at the roundabout near Greggs at approximately 10.40am for the return journey. If you spot us, please give us a cheery wave!
