The first junior PCSOs were introduced in Salford 4 years ago and the scheme is now being rolled out to other primary schools across the area. The team help the children to reduce the traffic congestion around their school. The Junior PCSOs have spoken to parents about inconsiderate parking and have assisted the Police in giving out leaflets during ‘Community Days’. HDT funded £120 for the children’s high visibility jackets.

“Thanks to HDT who have given us the funding to buy the junior PCSOs some hi-vis jackets for them to wear and they now look the part” Mark Fitzgerald, PCSO
