The Farm Watch scheme has 30 members and covers a hundred farms and dwellings in the areas of Irlam, Cadishead and the Barton Moss area of Chat Moss. Members are informed about any suspicious vehicles or activity in the area and details such as vehicle registrations or descriptions of offenders are passed to the police. HDT funded £130 for Farm Watch Signs designed to deter would-be criminals.

“The signs have helped a great deal, as they let people know they are being watched and have reduced the number of calls for hare coursing and other rural crime.” Paul Greenhalgh, PCSO
