2nd Irlam Scout Group

HDT offered £1,286 to help pay for flooring as it values the activities the Scout Group provides for children of all ages including Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers and Cubs.

The 2^nd Irlam Scout Group hut was refurbished about 2 years ago with help from Hamilton Davies Trust. Subsequently the floor needed to be re-laid due to cracks and moisture. HDT offered £1,286 to help pay for this as it values the activities the Scout Group provides for girls and boys of all ages including Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers and Cubs. “Possibly we would have had to close The Hut as the floor was cracking and water was coming through. Black bitumen was coming through the floor, and cracking it, as there was no membrane which really bad and we could not continue. It would affect everyone using the facilities.” Jim Mather, Group Scout Leader.
